Public Bus
From the Annapolis City Dock, head to the nearest bus stop on Main Street. You can take the Annapolis Transit Bus Route 99 which heads towards Washington, DC. Board the bus, and stay on for approximately 40 minutes until you reach the 'Greenbelt Metro Station' stop. From there, transfer to the Metro Green Line towards Branch Avenue and ride for about 30 minutes. Get off at the 'L'Enfant Plaza' station. Finally, walk about 10 minutes to the Smithsonian Arts + Industries Building located at 900 Jefferson Dr SW.
Water Taxi
Start at the Annapolis City Dock and catch a water taxi service that operates to nearby locations. Ask the captain for the taxi that goes to the Washington Harbor area. After approximately 30 minutes on the water, you will arrive at the Washington Harbor. From there, take a short walk (about 15 minutes) to the Smithsonian Arts + Industries Building, heading northwest along the waterfront and then turning onto Jefferson Drive SW.
Bicycle Rental
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in downtown Annapolis. Once you have your bike, head southwest on West Street towards the Naval Academy Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue onto Route 50. Follow the signs to Washington, DC. It’s about a 30-minute bike ride. Upon reaching the city, navigate towards the National Mall area, and then follow the signs to Jefferson Drive SW. The Smithsonian Arts + Industries Building will be on your left.
