From the Annapolis City Dock, head north on Main St towards West St. Continue walking straight for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with West St. Turn right onto West St and walk for another 0.5 miles. You will then reach the Maryland State House, which is a landmark. From the Maryland State House, head left onto State Circle and follow it to the exit onto Church Circle. Continue straight onto Duke of Gloucester St, then take a left onto West St. Follow West St until you reach the Annapolis Transit Center. From the Transit Center, take the 70 or 100 bus towards Washington, D.C. Get off at the stop at the National Mall. From there, walk to Independence Ave SW, and the Japanese Lantern will be located on your right.

Start at the City Dock and ride north on Main St towards West St. Continue onto West St for about 1 mile until you reach the Maryland State House. From there, follow the instructions as given for the walking route to the Annapolis Transit Center. Once you reach the Transit Center, take the bus or continue biking to Washington, D.C. After arriving, you can bike along Independence Ave SW to reach the Japanese Lantern.
