Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in downtown Annapolis, start by heading east on West Street towards the State House. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Church Circle. From there, take a left onto Main Street. Follow this street until you reach the waterfront, where you will find the Annapolis Harbor. Here, you can catch a water taxi to Washington, DC. The water taxi will take you across the Chesapeake Bay to the nearest dock in DC, and from there, you'll need to walk to the Capitol.

  • Public Transit

    To get to the United States Capitol from Annapolis via public transit, first make your way to the Annapolis Transit Center located at 3 Compromise Street. From there, take the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus number 70 towards Baltimore. This bus will take approximately 30-40 minutes to reach the New Carrollton Metro Station. Once you arrive at New Carrollton, transfer to the Washington Metro's Orange Line towards Vienna. Get off at the Capitol South Metro Station. After exiting the station, walk north on 1st Street SE for about 5 minutes to arrive at the United States Capitol.
