Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car, head to 5831 Dunker Church Rd, Sharpsburg, MD 21782. From the center of Antietam National Battlefield, follow the signs towards the Visitor Center. The center is located approximately 2 miles from the main entrance. Once you reach Dunker Church Rd, turn left, and you will find the Visitor Center on your right. There is free parking available on-site.

    For those using public transportation, you can take a bus to Sharpsburg, MD. The closest bus station is approximately 3 miles from the Visitor Center. From the bus stop, you can either take a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft, or walk to the Visitor Center. If walking, head northeast on Main St toward W Potomac St. Turn left onto W Potomac St, then right onto Dunker Church Rd. The Visitor Center will be on your left. Note that this walk is about an hour long, so plan accordingly.
