From the Visitor Center of Antietam National Battlefield, head south on Sharpsburg Pike (MD-65) for about 1 mile. Turn right onto Union Advance Trail. Continue on Union Advance Trail for approximately 0.5 miles until you reach Burnside Bridge, which will be on your left. There is parking available near the bridge.

If you are near the Antietam National Cemetery, you can walk to Burnside Bridge. Start at the cemetery entrance and head southeast on the paths leading toward Union Advance Trail. Follow the trail for about 1 mile. The bridge will be visible to your left as you approach it.
