Getting There

  • Car

    From Antietam National Battlefield, head northeast on Sharpsburg Pike (MD-65) toward the town of Sharpsburg. Continue on MD-65 for about 7 miles until you reach the intersection with US-40. Turn left onto US-40 East and follow it for approximately 9 miles. You will pass through the town of Frederick. Look for signs directing you to Urbana Pike (MD-355). Merge onto Urbana Pike (MD-355) and continue for about 2 miles. Monocacy National Battlefield will be on your right at 5201 Urbana Pike, Frederick, MD 21704.

    From Antietam National Battlefield, you would need to first take a local bus or taxi to reach the nearest major public transportation hub, such as the Frederick Transit Center. Once at the Frederick Transit Center, you can catch a bus that heads towards the area of Urbana Pike. Make sure to check the local bus schedules in advance, as they may vary.
