From Washington, D.C., take the George Washington Parkway towards Virginia, then merge onto I-495 N (Capital Beltway) and follow signs for Silver Spring. Take exit 39 for MD-187 N (Old Georgetown Road) towards Bethesda. Continue on MD-187 N, then turn left onto MacArthur Blvd (MD-190 W). Follow MacArthur Blvd until you see the signs for the Billy Goat Trail parking area on the right. The parking lot may charge a fee of around $5, so be prepared to pay.
Public Transportation
To reach Billy Goat Trail Section C using public transportation, start by taking the Metro to the Grosvenor-Strathmore station on the Red Line. From there, you can take the Ride On Bus #29 (to the Montgomery Mall) or #46 (to the Potomac) and get off at the 'MacArthur Blvd & Falls Rd' stop. After disembarking, walk west on Falls Road until you reach MacArthur Blvd. Cross the street and head towards the Billy Goat Trail entrance. Note that bus fares are typically around $2.00, so have some cash or a SmarTrip card ready.
Bicycle
If you're an avid cyclist, you can bike to Billy Goat Trail Section C. Use the Capital Crescent Trail that runs from Georgetown to Bethesda. Once you reach the end of the trail in Bethesda, navigate towards MacArthur Blvd, where you'll find a bike-friendly route leading directly to the Billy Goat Trail parking area. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow road safety rules. There are bike racks available at the trailhead to secure your bike.
