    If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards Maryland Route 77 (Thurmont) from your current location in Catoctin Mountain Area. Follow Route 77 until you approach Thurmont. Once you reach Thurmont, turn onto Route 15 North. Continue on Route 15 until you see signs for Cunningham Falls State Park. Turn onto William Houck Drive (14274 William Houck Dr, Thurmont, MD 21788) and follow the signs to the park entrance. There is a parking fee of $3 for Maryland residents and $5 for non-residents, which can be paid at the entrance.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, you can take a bus to Thurmont from nearby cities. The closest major bus station is in Frederick, MD. From Frederick, take the MTA Bus 204 to Thurmont. Upon reaching Thurmont, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to cover the final distance to Cunningham Falls State Park, as public transport does not go directly to the park. Expect to pay approximately $15 to $25 for a taxi ride from Thurmont to the park.
