If you are driving to Fort Frederick State Park, begin your journey by heading east on US-40 (National Pike) from any location in the Catoctin Mountain Area. Continue for approximately 15 miles until you reach the junction with I-70. Merge onto I-70 West toward Hagerstown. After about 10 miles, take exit 24 for MD-56 toward Big Pool. Turn left onto MD-56 and follow it for about 5 miles until you reach Fort Frederick Rd. Turn right onto Fort Frederick Rd, and the park entrance will be on your left after a short distance. The park's address is 11100 Fort Frederick Rd, Big Pool, MD 21711. Note that there may be a small entrance fee for parking, so be prepared with cash or a credit card.
