Car
From Cunningham Falls State Park, exit the park and head south on Catoctin Hollow Road (MD-77) for about 6 miles. At the intersection with US-340, turn left onto US-340 South. Continue for approximately 3 miles, then take the exit toward MD-180/Jefferson. Merge onto MD-180 East (Jefferson Pike) and continue for about 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Arnoldtown Road, and Gathland State Park will be on your left at 900 Arnoldtown Rd, Jefferson, MD 21755. There is no entrance fee for Gathland State Park.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you will need to first get to the closest bus terminal. The nearest option is in Frederick, MD. From Cunningham Falls State Park, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to the Frederick Transit Center. From the Transit Center, take the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus #204 towards Jefferson. Get off at the 'Jefferson' stop, which is the closest to Gathland State Park. From there, you may need to walk approximately 1 mile to reach the park entrance at 900 Arnoldtown Rd, Jefferson, MD 21755. Please check the MTA schedule for timing and fare details.
