Car
From the main entrance of Cunningham Falls State Park, take Catoctin Mountain Park Road heading southwest. Continue on this road for approximately 5 miles until you reach the intersection with South Mountain Road. Turn left onto South Mountain Road and follow it for about 2 miles. Look for a parking area on your right. Park your car here as this is the starting point for the trail to High Rock.
Hiking
After parking, locate the High Rock hiking trailhead. The trail is marked and begins a short distance from the parking area. The hike to High Rock is about 1.5 miles one way, and it is moderately challenging, so wear appropriate footwear. Follow the trail markers, and enjoy the scenic views along the way. Once you reach High Rock, you will be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area.

There is limited public transportation available directly to Cunningham Falls State Park. If you are relying on public transport, consider taking a bus to Hagerstown, MD. From Hagerstown, you can use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft to reach the park. Once in the park, follow the same car and hiking instructions to get to High Rock.
