Public Transportation
From downtown Frederick, walk to the Frederick Transit Center located at 100 S East St. Take the 'Frederick County Transit' bus route 55 towards Mount Airy. The bus will take you directly to the nearest stop to Black Ankle Vineyards. Once you arrive at the stop, walk approximately 0.5 miles west on Black Ankle Road to reach the vineyard.
Biking
If you prefer to bike, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in downtown Frederick. Head south on Market St, then turn left onto W 7th St. Follow W 7th St until it merges into MD-85 S. Continue on MD-85 S for about 10 miles, then turn left onto Black Ankle Rd. The vineyard will be on your right after a short distance.
Walking
If you are staying in a nearby area, you can walk to Black Ankle Vineyards. Start at the intersection of East St and Market St in downtown Frederick. Walk south on East St, which turns into MD-85 S. Continue straight for about 10 miles. Turn left onto Black Ankle Rd, and the vineyard will be on your right. Ensure you have comfortable walking shoes as this is a longer walk.
