Getting There

  • Public Bus

    From downtown Frederick, walk to the Frederick Transit Center located at 100 S. East St. Take the 'TransIT' bus route #60 towards Walkersville. Stay on the bus for about 20 minutes until you reach the stop at 'Walkersville Town Hall.' From here, walk north on Main St. for about 0.5 miles (approximately 10 minutes), then turn left onto Nature Center Place. Fountain Rock Nature Center will be on your right at 8511 Nature Center Place.

    Start at the downtown Frederick area and head north on the Carroll Creek Linear Park trail. Continue on the trail until you reach the intersection with East St. Turn left onto East St. and continue straight, following it as it becomes MD-194 N. After about 3 miles, turn right onto Nature Center Place. Fountain Rock Nature Center will be located at 8511 Nature Center Place.

    If you are staying in central Frederick, start by heading north on N. Market St. Continue until you reach the intersection with W. 7th St. Turn right onto W. 7th St. and follow it until you reach the intersection with MD-194 N. Cross MD-194 N and continue straight on this road for about 3 miles. Turn right onto Nature Center Place, and Fountain Rock Nature Center will be at 8511 Nature Center Place.
