Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from downtown Frederick, head southwest on East Patrick Street towards North Market Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with West South Street. At the intersection, turn left onto North Market Street. Follow North Market Street for several blocks until you reach the intersection with East 7th Street. Turn right onto East 7th Street and continue until you reach the end, where it merges with the US-15 S. Continue on US-15 S for about 8 miles. Take the exit towards MD-97 S/Georgia Avenue. Merge onto MD-97 S and continue for about 5 miles. Once you reach the intersection with Olney Laytonsville Road, turn right. Continue straight for about 1 mile, and Winter City Lights will be on your left at 4501 Olney Laytonsville Rd.

    From downtown Frederick, walk to the Frederick Transit Station located at 100 South East Street. Board the MARC Train on the Brunswick Line towards Washington, D.C. Ride the train for approximately 20 minutes and get off at the Olney station. From the Olney station, you can walk about 1.5 miles to Winter City Lights. Head south on MD-97 S (Georgia Avenue) and then turn left onto Olney Laytonsville Road. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach Winter City Lights at 4501 Olney Laytonsville Rd. Alternatively, you can use a local taxi service or rideshare option for the last mile.
