Metro
From Gaithersburg, head to the Gaithersburg Metro Station on the Red Line. Board a train heading towards Glenmont. After approximately 25 minutes, disembark at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station. Once you exit the station, follow the signs to Chinatown, which will lead you to the vibrant streets filled with shops and restaurants.
Bus
Take the Ride On Bus Route 55 from the Gaithersburg Transit Center towards the Shady Grove Metro Station. Once at Shady Grove, board the Metro Red Line towards Glenmont. After about 30 minutes, get off at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station. Follow the exit signs to Chinatown, where you will find yourself amidst the colorful atmosphere of the district.
Bicycle
If you are comfortable cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike-sharing services in Gaithersburg. Start by heading south on the Maryland Avenue. Continue onto the Metropolitan Grove Road, then take the path that leads to the Washington & Old Dominion Trail. Follow the trail towards Washington, DC. Once you reach the city, navigate to Chinatown which is located near the Gallery Place Metro Station.
Walking
If you prefer walking, it’s best to take the Metro to Gallery Place-Chinatown. From Gaithersburg, walk to the Metro Station and take the Red Line towards Glenmont. After about 25 minutes, get off at Gallery Place-Chinatown and explore the area on foot. The vibrant Chinatown district is very walkable and features many shops and restaurants to enjoy.
