From Gaithersburg, walk to the Gaithersburg Metro Station, which is on the Red Line. Board a train heading towards Glenmont. Stay on the train for about 30 minutes until you reach the L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station. Transfer to the Blue, Orange, or Yellow Line and board a train towards Franconia-Springfield for one stop. Get off at the Capitol South Metro Station. From there, walk east on Pennsylvania Ave SE for about 5 minutes, then turn left onto 7th St SE. Eastern Market will be on your right at 225 7th St SE.

Walk to the nearest bus stop and catch the Ride On Bus Route 55 towards the Shady Grove Metro Station. After about 25 minutes, get off at the Shady Grove Metro Station.
