From Gaithersburg, walk to the Gaithersburg Metro Station. Take the Red Line train towards Glenmont. Stay on the train for about 30 minutes, passing through stations such as Rockville, Twinbrook, and Silver Spring. When you arrive at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station, transfer to the Yellow Line or Green Line trains. Follow the signs to the correct platform and take the Yellow Line towards Greenbelt or the Green Line towards Branch Avenue. Get off at the next stop: L'Enfant Plaza. From L'Enfant Plaza, exit the station and walk approximately 10 minutes northeast to Ford's Theatre, located at 511 10th St NW.

Find the nearest bus stop in Gaithersburg and look for a bus route that goes to the Shady Grove Metro Station. Take the bus to Shady Grove and transfer to the Red Line Metro train towards Glenmont. Ride the train for about 30 minutes until you reach the Gallery Place-Chinatown station. From there, follow the same instructions as in the Metro section to transfer to the Yellow or Green Line and get off at L'Enfant Plaza. Walk about 10 minutes northeast to Ford's Theatre at 511 10th St NW.
