Getting There

• Metro

  To reach the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool from anywhere in Bethesda, start by heading to the Bethesda Metro Station located at 7400 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814. Take the Red Line towards Glenmont. Ride for 8 stops and get off at the Farragut North Station. From there, transfer to the Blue, Yellow, or Silver Line at the Farragut West Station, which is a short walk away. Take the Blue Line towards Largo Town Center or the Yellow Line towards Huntington. Get off at the Smithsonian Station. Once you exit the station, walk west on Independence Ave SW towards 14th St NW. Continue onto the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, which is located at 2 Lincoln Memorial Cir NW.

• Bus

  You can also take the Ride On bus service from Bethesda. Look for the Route 34 or 36 bus at a nearby stop. Board the bus heading towards the Silver Spring Metro Station. Ride for about 20 minutes and get off at the Rockville Metro Station. From there, you will take the Red Line metro towards Glenmont for 4 stops, then transfer to the Blue or Yellow Line at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station. After that, get off at the Smithsonian Station and walk towards the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

• Walking and Biking

  If you prefer to walk or bike, you can start from the Bethesda area. Head south on Wisconsin Ave, passing by local shops and eateries. Continue onto the Capital Crescent Trail, which will lead you directly towards the Georgetown area. Once you reach the waterfront, follow the signs to the National Mall. Head towards the Lincoln Memorial, which is about a 2-mile walk or bike ride from the waterfront. The scenic route will take you through beautiful parks and along the Potomac River.
