From Gaithersburg, walk to the nearest bus stop for the Ride On Bus Route 55. Board the bus heading towards the Glenmont Metro Station. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Rockville Metro Station. Transfer to the Red Line train towards Glenmont. Ride the train for about 45 minutes, getting off at the Smithsonian Metro Station. From there, exit the station and walk towards the National Mall, following signs for the Lincoln Memorial. Start at the Gaithersburg Metro Station on the MARC Train line. Take a train towards Union Station.
