Public Bus
From Gaithersburg, walk to the nearest bus stop for the Ride On Bus Route 55. Board the bus heading towards the Glenmont Metro Station. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Rockville Metro Station. Transfer to the Red Line train towards Glenmont. Ride the train for about 45 minutes, getting off at the Smithsonian Metro Station. From there, exit the station and walk towards the National Mall, following signs for the Lincoln Memorial. The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is directly in front of the Lincoln Memorial.

Start at the Gaithersburg Metro Station on the MARC Train line. Take a train towards Union Station. Upon arrival at Union Station, transfer to the Washington Metro and take the Red Line towards Glenmont. Ride the train for about 5 stops and get off at the Smithsonian Metro Station. Exit the station and follow the signs to the National Mall, walking directly to the Lincoln Memorial, where the Reflecting Pool is located.
