Getting There

  • Metro

    From Gaithersburg, walk to the Gaithersburg Metro Station. Take the Red Line train towards Glenmont. Travel for approximately 40 minutes and disembark at the Metro Center station. At Metro Center, transfer to the Blue, Orange, or Silver Line, and take it towards L'Enfant Plaza. Get off at the Smithsonian station. From there, it is a short walk to the Smithsonian Castle located at 1000 Jefferson Dr SW.

    Walk to the nearest bus stop and take the Ride On Bus Route 56 towards Silver Spring. Ride for about 30 minutes until you reach the Rockville Metro Station. From there, board the Red Line Metro towards Glenmont. After about 30 minutes, get off at the Metro Center station. Transfer to the Blue, Orange, or Silver Line towards L'Enfant Plaza and get off at the Smithsonian station. The Smithsonian Castle is a brief walk from there.
