    To get to Chinatown in Washington, DC from Laurel, start by walking to the nearest bus stop on Route 1 (Baltimore Avenue). Look for the WMATA (Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority) bus that goes to the Greenbelt Metro Station. Board the bus and ride until you reach the Greenbelt Metro Station. Once there, purchase a Metro fare card at the kiosk, and take the Green Line train toward Branch Avenue. After 9 stops, get off at L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station. From L'Enfant Plaza, transfer to the Yellow Line train toward Mt. Vernon Square. Ride for 2 stops and get off at Gallery Place-Chinatown Station. Exit the station, and you will find yourself in the heart of Chinatown.

    Light Rail

    Start by walking to the nearest MARC train station in Laurel. Purchase a ticket for the Penn Line train heading toward Union Station. Board the train and enjoy the ride. After about 20 minutes, disembark at the Union Station stop. Once you arrive at Union Station, you can either walk to Chinatown, which is about a 20-minute walk away, or you can take a short Metro ride. If you choose the Metro, head to the underground Metro station within Union Station and take the Red Line toward Glenmont. Transfer at Gallery Place-Chinatown to the Yellow or Green Line and get off at Gallery Place-Chinatown Station.
