Once you reach the stop at the intersection of Route 197 and Laurel-Bowie Road, disembark. From there, walk south on Route 197 for about 0.5 miles until you reach the entrance of Patuxent Research Refuge, located at 10901 Scarlet Tanager Loop. The National Wildlife Visitor Center is located inside the refuge; follow the signs.

Turn left onto Route 197 and ride for approximately 2 miles. You will see the entrance to Patuxent Research Refuge on your left. Make sure to follow the bike lanes where available for a safer ride.
