Bus
From the center of Ocean City, head to the nearest bus stop along Coastal Highway (Route 528). Look for the Shore Transit bus line that goes towards Berlin. Board the bus labeled for 'Berlin.' The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Berlin, you will need to walk for about 15-20 minutes to reach Assateague Island National Seashore. Head east on Main Street until you reach Route 50. Turn left onto Route 50 and continue until you reach National Seashore Lane. Turn right onto National Seashore Lane, and you will see the entrance to Assateague Island on your left.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Ocean City. Start by heading south on Coastal Highway until you reach Route 50. Turn left onto Route 50 and continue riding for about 7 miles. Be sure to follow the bike lanes where available. Once you reach the intersection with National Seashore Lane, turn right. Continue down National Seashore Lane for about 1 mile until you reach the entrance to Assateague Island National Seashore.

Walking
If you're up for a longer walk, you can walk from Ocean City to Assateague Island. Start by heading south on Coastal Highway until you reach Route 50. Turn left on Route 50 and walk for about 7 miles. This route does not have sidewalks for the entire stretch, so be cautious of traffic. When you reach National Seashore Lane, turn right. Continue walking down National Seashore Lane for about 1 mile to reach the entrance of Assateague Island National Seashore.
