From any location in Rockville, head to the Rockville Metro Station. Take the Red Line towards Glenmont. Stay on the train for about 20 minutes, passing through stations such as Twinbrook, White Flint, and Grosvenor-Strathmore. Get off at the Farragut North station. Transfer to the Farragut West station and take the Orange, Blue, or Silver Line towards Largo Town Center. After a few stops, get off at the Smithsonian station.

Start at the nearest bus stop in Rockville. You can take the Ride On Bus Route 55 towards the Glenmont Metro Station. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you reach Glenmont, transfer to the Metro Red Line and head towards the Smithsonian station. After getting off at the Smithsonian station, walk towards the National Mall and follow signs to the John Ericsson Memorial located at 900 Ohio Dr SW, Washington, DC 20024.
