Getting There

  • Metro

    From Rockville, walk to the Rockville Metro Station. Take the Red Line train towards Glenmont. After about 25 minutes, get off at the Judiciary Square Metro Station. Once you exit the station, walk southeast on F Street NW for about 0.3 miles until you reach the National Gallery of Art. Continue walking south for another 0.2 miles, and you will arrive at The Ellipse, which is located directly south of the White House.

  • Bus

    From Rockville, walk to the nearest bus stop served by the Ride On bus system. Take the Ride On Route 46 bus towards the Twinbrook Metro Station. After about 30 minutes, transfer to the Metrobus Route L2 at the Rockville Metro Station. Ride the L2 for approximately 50 minutes until you reach the bus stop at 15th Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue NW. From there, walk 0.3 miles to The Ellipse, located near the White House.

  • Walking

    If you prefer to walk, you can start from the Rockville Town Center. Head southeast on E Montgomery Ave toward N Washington St. Continue on N Washington St, which will turn into MD-355 S. Follow this road for about 6 miles, which will lead you directly into downtown Washington, DC. Once you reach the area near the White House, look for The Ellipse, which is a large park directly south of the White House.
