From the Rocky Gap State Park entrance, head south on Route 144 (Lake Shore Drive) for about 1.5 miles. Turn left onto Flintstone Creek Road. Continue for approximately 2 miles, and you will see Monkey's Head Rock on your right. There is no designated parking, so be sure to park safely along the side of the road.

If you are using public transportation, your best option is to take a bus to Cumberland, MD. From Cumberland, you can take a taxi or rideshare to reach Rocky Gap State Park. Once at the park, follow the directions for driving (as outlined above) or inquire with local services for any possible shuttle options to Monkey's Head Rock. Note that public transit options may be limited, especially on weekends.

If you are already within Rocky Gap State Park and wish to hike to Monkey's Head Rock, head towards the hiking trails near the campground area. Follow the trails that lead to the Flintstone Creek area, which is about a 2-mile hike from the campground.
