Metro
From any location in Silver Spring, walk to the Silver Spring Metro Station, which is located at 8100 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Once at the station, board the Red Line train heading towards Glenmont. After approximately 20 minutes, disembark at the Dupont Circle Metro Station. After exiting the station, take the south exit onto 19th St NW. Walk two blocks south until you reach the corner of 19th St NW and Q St NW. Turn left onto Q St NW and walk for about 0.5 miles until you reach 22nd St NW. Turn right onto 22nd St NW and walk until you reach the Spanish Steps at 1725 22nd St NW. The entire journey should take about 1 hour.
Bus
From your location in Silver Spring, walk to the nearest bus stop for the Ride On Bus service. You can catch the Route 18 bus heading towards Takoma Metro Station. Stay on the bus for about 15-20 minutes and get off at the Takoma Metro Station stop. From there, you can catch the Metro Red Line towards Glenmont. Ride the train for approximately 20 minutes and get off at the Dupont Circle Metro Station. Upon exiting the station, take the south exit onto 19th St NW. Walk two blocks south until you reach the corner of 19th St NW and Q St NW. Turn left onto Q St NW and continue for about 0.5 miles to 22nd St NW. If you prefer to walk and are starting from a central location in Silver Spring, head towards the Silver Spring Metro Station. From there, take your time walking down Georgia Avenue, which will turn into 16th St NW as you cross into Washington, DC. Continue walking south on 16th St NW until you reach Q St NW. Turn left onto Q St NW and walk until you hit 22nd St NW. Turn right on 22nd St NW, and after a few minutes, you will arrive at the Spanish Steps at 1725 22nd St NW. This walking route is approximately 4.5 miles and could take around 1.5 to 2 hours.
