Getting There

Metro
From anywhere in Silver Spring, head to the Silver Spring Metro Station, which is located at 8400 Colesville Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Once at the station, take the Red Line towards Glenmont. Ride the train for 8 stops (approximately 20 minutes) and get off at the Union Station stop. From Union Station, exit the metro and head towards the front of the station. You will see signs directing you to the U.S. Capitol. Walk approximately 0.7 miles (about 15 minutes) east down E Capitol St NE, then turn right onto First St SE. The U.S. Capitol Visitor Center will be on your left.

Bus
You can take the Ride On Bus Route 20 from the Silver Spring Transit Center. Board the bus heading towards the Takoma Metro Station. After about 15 minutes, get off at the stop at Eastern Ave & 3rd St NE. From there, walk south along 3rd St NE until you reach E Capitol St NE. Turn left on E Capitol St NE and walk about 0.5 miles. Turn right onto First St SE, and you will find the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center on your left.

Walking
If you prefer walking, start from the Silver Spring Town Center. Head south on Georgia Ave towards the Silver Spring Metro Station. Continue on Georgia Ave until you reach the intersection with Colesville Rd, then turn left onto Colesville Rd. Follow Colesville Rd as it becomes E Capitol St NE. Walk for approximately 2 miles (about 40-50 minutes). When you reach First St SE, turn right, and the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center will be on your left.
