Metro
If you are in Silver Spring, head to the Silver Spring Metro Station located at 8700 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Take the Red Line towards Glenmont. Ride for about 10 minutes and get off at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station. Transfer to the Yellow Line towards Huntington, and ride for 4 more stops until you reach the L'Enfant Plaza station. From there, switch to the Blue Line towards Largo Town Center, and ride for 1 stop to reach the Union Station stop.
Bus
You can take the Ride On Bus Route 14 from Silver Spring. Board the bus at the Silver Spring Transit Center, located at 8100 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Stay on for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at 7th St NE & Massachusetts Ave NE. From there, walk about 5 minutes to Union Station, located at 50 Massachusetts Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002.
Walking
If you are already in downtown Silver Spring, you can take a scenic walk to Union Station. Start at the corner of Fenton St and Ellsworth Dr and head south on Fenton St. Continue walking until you reach the Silver Spring Metro Station. From there, follow the instructions for the Metro option. The walk itself is about 20 minutes to get to the station.
Bicycle
If you have a bicycle, you can ride from Silver Spring to Union Station. Start by heading south on Georgia Ave and follow the bike lanes. Continue south until you reach the intersection with Maryland Ave NE. Turn left on Maryland Ave NE and continue until you reach Union Station at 50 Massachusetts Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002. The ride is approximately 4 miles and should take around 20-30 minutes, depending on your speed.
