After exiting the station, walk south on 17th Street NW towards I Street NW. Turn left onto I Street NW and walk until you reach 14th Street NW. Continue walking south on 14th Street until you reach Independence Avenue SW. The Japanese Lantern will be on your left.

From the Silver Spring Transit Center, take the Ride On Bus Route 21 towards Takoma Park. Get off at the stop at 14th Street and Independence Avenue SW. From there, walk east for about 2 minutes; the Japanese Lantern is located at Independence Avenue SW, Washington, DC 20006.

If you prefer to walk, start from downtown Silver Spring. Head southeast on Georgia Avenue towards Silver Spring Avenue. Continue on Silver Spring Avenue until you reach the intersection with 16th Street. Turn left onto 16th Street and continue until you reach the intersection with K Street NW. Turn right onto K Street and then turn left onto 14th Street NW. Continue walking on 14th Street until you reach Independence Avenue SW, where the Japanese Lantern will be on your left.
