Car
From the city of Cumberland, MD, take US-220 S (South) for approximately 12 miles. Continue on US-220 S until you reach the intersection with MD-36 S. Turn left onto MD-36 S and follow it for about 5 miles. After that, turn right on Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) Road. The Borden Tunnel will be located a short distance down this path on your left. Make sure to park in designated areas, as parking is limited.

Take a bus from Cumberland to Frostburg. Once in Frostburg, you can use a rideshare service or taxi to reach the GAP trailhead. From there, you can walk or bike along the trail, which will lead you to Borden Tunnel. Note that the walk or bike ride may take approximately 30 minutes, depending on your pace. Ensure you check the bus schedule in advance as services may vary.
