Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in Barnstable Village, head east on Main Street towards the intersection with Route 6A. Turn left onto Route 6A and continue walking for about 2.5 miles, passing by the Barnstable Harbor. Once you reach the intersection with Route 130, turn right. Continue on Route 130 for another mile until you reach Sandwich. At this point, look for signs directing you to the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center. The visitor center is located at 60 Ed Moffitt Drive, which is a short walk from the main road. Follow the signs along Ed Moffitt Drive to reach the visitor center.

    From Barnstable, take the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) bus Route 1 towards Hyannis. Get off at the Hyannis Transportation Center. From there, transfer to the Route 2 bus heading towards Sandwich. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop near Sandwich Village. From the bus stop, walk east along Route 130 until you reach the junction with Ed Moffitt Drive. The Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center is located about a 15-minute walk down Ed Moffitt Drive, directly along the canal.
