If you are in downtown Barnstable, start by heading southeast on Main Street. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 28. Cross at the pedestrian crosswalk and turn left onto Route 28. Walk along Route 28 for approximately 1 mile. You will pass various shops and restaurants along the way. Look for the entrance to Hathaway's Ponds on your right, just after passing the Centerville Library. Follow the path leading into the park area, and you will find Hathaway's Ponds.

From the Barnstable Village area, you can take the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) bus. Board the bus heading towards Hyannis and get off at the Centerville Library stop. Once you exit the bus, walk east on Main Street for about 0.2 miles. At the intersection with Route 28, turn right. Continue along Route 28 for about 0.5 miles until you see the entrance to Hathaway's Ponds on your right. Enter the park and follow the trails to the ponds.
