If you are starting from Barnstable Village, walk south on Main Street until you reach the intersection with Route 6A. Turn left onto Route 6A and continue walking for approximately 2 miles. You’ll pass by various shops and historical sites. After 2 miles, keep an eye out for Sandy Neck Road on your right. Turn onto Sandy Neck Road, which will lead you directly to the beach area. Follow the road until you reach the parking area; note that walking will take about 40-50 minutes depending on your pace.
Public Transportation
To reach Sandy Neck Beach via public transportation, start at the Barnstable Village Bus Terminal. Board the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) bus route that heads towards Hyannis. Get off at the stop near the intersection of Route 6A and Sandy Neck Road. From there, you can walk approximately 1 mile down Sandy Neck Road to reach the beach. The bus ride will take about 15-20 minutes, and the subsequent walk should take around 20 minutes.
Biking
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike in Barnstable Village. Start by heading south on Main Street and take a left onto Route 6A. Continue on Route 6A for about 2 miles. Turn right onto Sandy Neck Road. Biking along this route will take about 20-30 minutes, depending on your speed. Once you arrive, park your bike in the designated area before heading to the beach.
