If you're driving, start by getting onto I-95 N from your location in Bristol County. Continue on I-95 N for approximately 20 miles. Take exit 18 toward South Boston. Merge onto William J Day Blvd. Continue on William J Day Blvd for about 1 mile, and you will see Castle Island on your right. There is parking available nearby, but it may be limited during peak hours.
Public Transportation
To reach Castle Island via public transportation, you will need to take the MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority) from your nearest bus or train station. If you're near a train station, take the Red Line towards Ashmont, and then transfer to the 9 bus towards City Point. Get off at the 'Castle Island' stop. The total travel time varies based on your starting point but typically ranges from 45 minutes to over an hour. Be sure to check the MBTA schedule for the most accurate times. A one-way fare is $2.40.
