Getting There

Walking
If you are near Brockton's downtown area, start by walking towards the Brockton MBTA station located at 1 Montello St. Once you arrive at the station, take the MBTA's commuter rail on the Middleborough/Lakeville Line towards Boston. The train ride will take approximately 35-45 minutes. Get off at the South Station stop in Boston. After exiting South Station, walk towards the Orange Line subway station located nearby. Take the Orange Line train towards North Station. At the Haymarket stop, transfer to the Green Line (C or D branch) and ride towards the Kenmore stop. Get off at the Copley stop. From the Copley station, exit and walk down Boylston Street for about 5 minutes until you reach the Boston Public Library at 700 Boylston St.

From Brockton, you can take the GATRA bus service. Start at the Brockton bus terminal located at 1 Montello St. Board the GATRA bus that goes to the Bridgewater State University or the Middleborough area that connects with the MBTA. Once you reach Bridgewater, transfer to the MBTA bus or commuter rail towards Boston. After arriving at South Station, follow the same directions as in the walking option to get to Copley Station, then walk to the library.
