From downtown Gloucester, head southeast on Washington Street toward Main Street. Continue straight onto Eastern Avenue. Follow Eastern Avenue until you reach the intersection with Leonard Street. Turn left onto Leonard Street. Continue on Leonard Street, which will lead you to Eastern Point Road. Follow Eastern Point Road until you reach the end, where you will find the Eastern Point Lighthouse. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that some areas may require a permit.
Public Transportation
Take the MBTA commuter rail from Boston to Gloucester Station. Once you arrive at Gloucester Station, you can catch the Cape Ann Transportation Authority (CATA) bus route 1 towards Gloucester. Get off at the stop for Eastern Avenue. From there, it is about a 15-minute walk along Eastern Avenue, which will lead you to Leonard Street and then to Eastern Point Road, where you can follow it to the lighthouse. Walking/Biking
If you are already in the vicinity of the lighthouse, you can walk or bike from downtown Gloucester. Head southeast on Washington Street, then continue onto Eastern Avenue, and follow the same route described for driving. The total distance is approximately 2 miles one way, so be prepared for a scenic walk or bike ride along the waterfront.
