Car
To reach Fort Hill Rural Historic District by car, start on Route 6, the main highway on Cape Cod. Take Exit 11 toward Eastham and merge onto MA-6A North. Continue on MA-6A for about 1.5 miles. Turn left onto Fort Hill Road. The Fort Hill Rural Historic District is located at 70 Fort Hill Rd, Eastham, MA 02642. There is no entrance fee, and parking is available nearby.
Public Transportation
To reach the Fort Hill Rural Historic District using public transportation, take the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) bus. Look for Route 2 (Brewster/Eastham) and board the bus at your nearest stop. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Fort Hill Road stop. From there, it’s a short walk to 70 Fort Hill Rd. The fare for the bus is typically $3.00. Check the CCRTA website for the latest schedule and route information.
Biking
If you prefer to bike, you can use the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Start at any point on the trail and head towards Eastham. Once you reach Eastham, follow Route 6A North until you reach Fort Hill Road. Turn left onto Fort Hill Road and continue until you arrive at 70 Fort Hill Rd. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local biking regulations. There are no fees to bike to the site.
Walking
For those already in Eastham, you can walk to the Fort Hill Rural Historic District. If you’re staying in a local hotel or rental, use your phone's map application to find the shortest walking route to Fort Hill Road. The area around the historic district is scenic, making for a pleasant walk. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, especially on warm days.
