Getting There

Walking
From the center of Gloucester, head east on Main Street towards Washington Street. Continue on Main Street until you reach the intersection with Rogers Street. Turn left onto Rogers Street, which will lead you to the waterfront. Follow Rogers Street until it becomes East Main Street. Keep walking straight until you reach the intersection with Western Avenue. Turn left onto Western Avenue, then continue straight until you reach the Gloucester Harbor. Here, you can catch the ferry to Boston. Once you arrive in Boston, follow signs to the subway station and take the Red Line to Ashmont. From Ashmont, transfer to the Mattapan Trolley, which will take you to the Milton station. At Milton, board the #10 bus towards the North Quincy T station. Get off at the William J Day Blvd stop. Castle Island will be a short walk from there.

If you're at Gloucester's main bus terminal, take the MBTA bus #441 towards Boston. This bus will take you directly to South Station in Boston. Once at South Station, transfer to the Red Line subway heading towards Ashmont. Get off at the Ashmont station and take the Mattapan Trolley. Disembark at the Milton Station, and catch the #10 bus towards North Quincy. Get off at the William J Day Blvd stop. Castle Island is a short walk from there, just follow the signs.
