Walking
From downtown Gloucester, head east on Main Street towards the harbor. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Western Avenue. Turn left onto Western Avenue and follow it until you reach the Gloucester Fishermen's Memorial. From there, continue down the waterfront on Harbor Loop. This will lead you towards the train station. Once you reach the station, you can take the MBTA commuter rail towards Boston. Get off at North Station, then transfer to the Orange Line at Haymarket Station. Ride the Orange Line towards Oak Grove and get off at North Station. From North Station, you can catch the Charlestown Ferry to Charlestown Navy Yard. The ferry ride takes approximately 15 minutes. After disembarking at the Charlestown Navy Yard, the destination will be a short walk away.
Public Transportation
Start at the nearest bus stop in Gloucester. Take the Cape Ann Transportation Authority (CATA) bus heading to the MBTA train station. Once you arrive at the train station, purchase a ticket for the MBTA commuter rail to Boston. After arriving at North Station, transfer to the Orange Line and head towards Oak Grove. Get off at Haymarket Station. From there, walk to the nearby Charlestown Ferry terminal. Board the ferry to Charlestown. After the ferry ride, you can walk to the Charlestown Navy Yard, which is just a few minutes away from the ferry terminal.
