If you are in downtown Gloucester, start at the Gloucester Fishermen's Memorial located at 75 Rocky Neck Ave. Head southeast on Rocky Neck Ave towards Main St. Turn left onto Main St and walk for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Washington St. Continue straight onto Washington St and follow it until you reach the end, where it meets Rogers St. Turn left onto Rogers St and walk towards the harbor. When you reach the harbor, turn right onto the waterfront path and walk along the water until you reach the Gloucester Harbor. From there, take the ferry to Boston. Once you arrive at the Boston ferry terminal, walk southeast along the waterfront towards Atlantic Ave. You will see signs directing you to the Observation Deck at Independence Wharf, located at 470 Atlantic Ave.

From downtown Gloucester, walk to the nearest bus stop on Main St at the intersection with Washington St. Take the MBTA bus #441 towards the Alewife station. Ride the bus for about 40 minutes until you reach the Alewife station. Transfer to the Red Line towards Ashmont/Braintree. Ride the subway for about 30 minutes until you reach the South Station. Exit the subway and walk east on Summer St towards Atlantic Ave. Continue on Atlantic Ave for a few blocks until you reach 470 Atlantic Ave, where the Observation Deck at Independence Wharf is located.
