If you are in downtown Gloucester, start at the Cape Ann Museum located at 27 Pleasant St. Head southeast on Pleasant St toward Main St. Turn left onto Main St and walk until you reach the intersection with Washington St. Turn right onto Washington St and continue until you reach the train station. From there, take the MBTA commuter rail to North Station in Boston. Once you arrive at North Station, exit and head to the Orange Line subway at Haymarket. Take the Orange Line towards Forest Hills and switch at Haymarket to the Green Line. Take the Green Line towards Kenmore and get off at the Symphony Hall stop. You will see Symphony Hall directly in front of you at 301 Massachusetts Ave.

Begin at the Gloucester MBTA bus station at 1 Main St. Catch the MBTA bus route 439 towards Beverly Depot. Ride the bus until you reach the Beverly Depot stop. From the Beverly Depot, transfer to the MBTA commuter rail heading towards North Station in Boston. Once you arrive at North Station, exit and walk to the Haymarket subway station. Take the Orange Line towards Forest Hills. At Haymarket, switch to the Green Line and take the train towards Kenmore. Get off at the Symphony Hall stop. The hall will be very close to your exit.
