Walking
If you're starting from the Gloucester train station, head south on Washington Street towards the intersection with Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street and continue straight until you reach the waterfront. From there, follow the signs leading to the Gloucester Harbor. Once you reach the harbor, you'll find the ferry terminal. Take a ferry to Boston, which will offer scenic views.
