From the center of Gloucester, head to the Gloucester MBTA bus station located at 4 Railway Ave. Take the Cape Ann Transportation Authority (CATA) Route 441 bus heading towards Rockport. The bus will take you along Route 127, and you should disembark at the stop closest to Rockport center. From there, it is about a 15-20 minute walk to the Straitsmouth Island Light Station. Head northeast on Broadway until you reach Main Street, then turn left on Main Street. Follow Main Street until you reach the harbor, where you can find signs directing you towards the beach access point leading to the lighthouse.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in downtown Gloucester. Start your journey from the downtown area and head north on Washington Street. Continue onto Route 127, which will take you directly towards Rockport. The ride is approximately 6 miles and offers beautiful views of the coastline. Follow the bike paths and signs towards Rockport, and once you reach the town, park your bike in a designated area near the harbor. From there, it's a short walk to the Straitsmouth Island Light Station.

Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and are up for a longer walk, you can start from the downtown Gloucester area. Head north on Pleasant Street, which turns into Washington Street. Continue walking until you reach Route 127, and then follow the road towards Rockport. The distance is about 6 miles and will take approximately 2 hours on foot. As you walk, enjoy the scenic views of the coastline. Once you've reached Rockport, follow the local signs to the harbor and then towards the Straitsmouth Island Light Station.
