From Northampton, take MA-10 N for about 10 miles until you reach the intersection with N Main St. Turn left onto N Main St, and continue for approximately 2 miles. The Buttonball Tree will be on your right. There is free parking available along the street.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take the PVTA bus from Northampton to Sunderland. The bus stops at the Sunderland Town Hall. From there, it is about a 20-minute walk to the Buttonball Tree. Head north on N Main St for about 1 mile; the Buttonball Tree will be on your left. Please check the PVTA schedule for the most current bus times. A one-way fare is approximately $1.50.
Biking
Biking to Buttonball Tree is also a great option. If you're in the Northampton area, bike along the bike path leading to Sunderland. Follow the rail trail until you reach the town center, then navigate to N Main St. From there, it's a short ride of about 2 miles to reach the Buttonball Tree. If you're already in Sunderland, walking to the Buttonball Tree is a pleasant option. From the town center, head north on N Main St. It's about a 25-minute walk, covering roughly 1.5 miles.
