From Northampton, take I-91 N for about 16 miles. Take exit 26 for MA-2 W toward Greenfield. Continue on MA-2 W for approximately 22 miles. Take the exit toward Charlemont and turn left onto Charlemont Rd. After about 1.5 miles, turn right onto Thunder Mountain Rd where you'll find the Thunderbolt Mountain Coaster.

For those using public transportation, start by taking the Peter Pan Bus from Northampton to Greenfield. The bus departs from the Northampton Bus Station and the fare is approximately $15. Once in Greenfield, transfer to the Franklin Regional Transit Authority (FRTA) bus route 34, which will take you to Charlemont. After arriving in Charlemont, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to Thunderbolt Mountain Coaster, which is about a 5-minute drive away.
