Bus
From Hyannis, head to the nearest bus stop, which is located at the Hyannis Transportation Center. Take the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) bus towards Bourne. You will need to transfer at the Bourne stop to the bus that heads towards the Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge. Once on the correct bus, stay on until you reach the stop closest to the bridge, which is the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center stop. From there, it's a short walk of about 10 minutes to the Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge. Simply follow the signs directing you towards the canal.
Bicycle
If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Hyannis. Once you have your bike, head towards Main Street and follow it north until you reach the intersection with Route 28. Take a left onto Route 28 and continue until you reach the Bourne Bridge. There are designated bike paths along the way. After crossing the bridge, follow the signs to the Cape Cod Canal. The bridge will be visible as you approach the canal area, and it will take approximately 30 minutes to bike there from Hyannis.
Walking
If you enjoy walking, you can set out from Hyannis towards the Cape Cod Canal. Start at Main Street and head north until you reach the intersection with Route 28. From there, follow Route 28 north towards Bourne. It is a long walk, approximately 5 miles, and will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Make sure to stay on the sidewalks and be cautious of traffic. Once you reach Bourne, follow the signs to the canal area where the Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge is located.
