Walking
Start at the Lowell National Historical Park Visitor Center located at 246 Market Street, Lowell, MA. Walk southwest on Market Street towards Merrimack Street. Turn right onto Merrimack Street and continue until you reach the intersection with John Street. Turn left onto John Street. After a short walk, continue straight to reach the intersection with Dutton Street. Turn right onto Dutton Street and walk until you reach the intersection with Broadway Street. Turn left onto Broadway Street and continue walking until you arrive at the intersection with Rogers Street. Turn right onto Rogers Street and follow it until you reach the intersection with Pawtucket Boulevard. Cross over to the other side of Pawtucket Boulevard and continue walking straight until you reach the footbridge. Cross the footbridge over the Merrimack River. After crossing, continue straight and follow the signs to the Lowell-Dracut-Tyngsboro State Forest. From here, you will follow the trails that lead towards Groton. The path will take you to Bancroft’s Castle Sunset View Point, located at 145 Lowell Rd, Groton, MA. This part of the journey may take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace.
