This route will lead you to the nearest bus stop where you can catch a bus to Boston. The bus ride will take about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Boston, follow signs to Downtown Crossing, which is a major transit hub.

    Public Transit

    From any location in Lowell, make your way to the Lowell Transit Center located at 100 Thorndike Street. Once there, board the MBTA bus 350 towards Alewife Station. This bus will take you directly to Alewife Station in Cambridge. At Alewife, transfer to the Alewife-bound train on the Red Line. Ride this train towards Ashmont and get off at Downtown Crossing. The whole journey will take approximately 1-1.5 hours depending on wait times and transfers.
