Getting There

Bus
From any central location in Lowell, make your way to the nearest Lowell Transit bus stop. Look for the bus routes that head toward the 'Lowell Connector'. Board the bus that takes you toward the 'Alewife' station. Once you arrive at Alewife station, transfer to the 'Alewife' subway line (Red Line) towards 'Ashmont/Braintree'. Continue on the subway until you reach 'Harvard' station. From there, it's a short walk to the Harvard Art Museums. Exit the station and head northwest on Brattle St toward Quincy St. Turn left onto Quincy St, and the museums will be on your left at 32 Quincy St.

Train
Start at the Lowell train station located at 20 M. E. Mooney Drive. Board the MBTA commuter rail (Lowell Line) heading towards North Station in Boston. After approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at North Station. From North Station, follow the signs to the Haymarket subway station located nearby. Take the Green Line subway towards 'Cleveland Circle' and transfer at 'Government Center' to the Blue Line. Switch to the Red Line at 'Park Street' station towards 'Alewife'. Get off at 'Harvard' station. Exit the station, walk northwest on Brattle St towards Quincy St, and turn left onto Quincy St. The Harvard Art Museums will be on your left.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike-sharing programs in Lowell. Start from the downtown area and head south on the Western Canal. Follow the bike path along the river, which will take you to the 'South Lawrence' area. From there, navigate toward the Merrimack River Trail, connecting to the 'Middlesex Canal' path. This route will lead you south toward Cambridge. Once you reach Cambridge, follow local bike lanes to Quincy St. The Harvard Art Museums will be at 32 Quincy St, just off the main cycling route.

Head west on John St, then turn left onto Merrimack St. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with the 'Lowell Connector'. After this, follow the directions for the train option above to arrive at the Harvard Art Museums.
