Getting There

Walking
Start at the Lowell Visitor Center located at 246 Market Street. Head east on Market Street towards Merrimack Street. Turn left onto Merrimack Street and walk until you reach the intersection with Dutton Street. Turn right onto Dutton Street and continue walking until you reach the bus stop at the intersection with Central Street. Take the Lowell Transit Bus Route 3 towards the Gallagher Terminal. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes, then get off at the Salem Depot. From there, follow the signs to the Salem Ferry Terminal which is about a 10-minute walk. Once at the terminal, take the ferry to Salem. After arriving in Salem, walk north on Derby Street until you reach Winter Island Road. Turn left on Winter Island Road, and Winter Island Park will be on your right.

From downtown Lowell, walk to the nearest bus stop and take the Lowell Transit Bus Route 3. Ride the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach the Gallagher Terminal. Here, transfer to the MBTA Commuter Rail towards Salem. After approximately 20 minutes, disembark at the Salem station. Once you arrive, walk north on Washington Street until you reach Derby Street. Turn left on Derby and continue until you reach Winter Island Road. Turn right onto Winter Island Road, and you will find Winter Island Park.
